Meet the team
MIKE BRUCE BSc (Ost), BSc HONS
Mike wanted to be an osteopath from a young age after he saw first-hand how effective treatment could be. After graduating with a first class degree from Nottingham University in Biology, he went on to study osteopathy at the British School of Osteopathy in London.
Mike qualified in 1994 and brings a wealth of experience to the clinic. He has special interests in nerve root pain, sciatica and ergonomics.
He also works for an NHS community back pain service 2 days a week.
Within this service he is responsible for low back pain and sciatica referrals, using Osteopathy and acupuncture, and can refer on for MRI investigation, injection therapies or neurosurgical review as appropriate.
He is married to Pia and they have 2 teenage sons. Together they enjoy tennis, yoga, and film. He is a keen Plymouth Argyle supporter!!
KATE TURNER M. Ost.
Kate discovered osteopathy after experiencing her own difficulties with neck and shoulder pain and realising that Ibuprofen isn’t a long-term solution!
After obtaining a Masters of Osteopathy at the British School of Osteopathy in 2014, Kate spent a couple of years working at the Plympton Osteopathic Clinic, before moving to Munich, Germany to work in a large, multidisciplinary clinic. After almost 5 years heading up the Osteopathic team in Munich, Kate is returning to the Southwest to swap mountains for the coast and see more of family and friends.
She has a special interest in women’s health, visceral osteopathy and lifestyle management.
When not working with patients, Kate is usually found hiking, swimming, sewing or trying something creative.
KIERON KERR M. Ost
A golfing injury led Kieron to consider Osteopathy as a career. Kieron trained at the British School of Osteopathy, where he graduated with a Masters in Osteopathy. He has treated patients ranging in age from 7 to 88 years old and believes that Osteopathy can help with almost every condition.
Kieron tailors his treatments to suit the individual and is passionate about returning the patient to full health, so that they can return to their chosen activity as soon as possible. Kieron has a special interest in biomechanics of the lower limb and rehabilitation following injury.
PIA MUDALIAR BSc (Ost) CNHC registered
Pia qualified with a degree in Osteopathy in 1994 and set up the P.O.C. with Mike a few years later. She worked as an Osteopath until the birth of her second son, when she took a career break, returning to work as a Massage Therapist in 2008.
Pia has a unique style. Her background in osteopathy means that she can offer a professional and clinical approach, whilst her years of experience and high levels of empathy enable her to work intuitively. Each therapy session is tailor made to the individual, using techniques ranging form effleurage to deeper soft tissue and fascial release, joint articulation and muscle energy technique.
Pia can provide treatment for specific symptomatic areas or for deep relaxation.
We hope you have enjoyed meeting the team here in Plymouth!
I contacted Mike after being in some considerable pain and prescribed diazepam by my GP. I can honestly say that after my second visit, which was today, the difference is incredible. Highly recommended for the ‘practical’ benefit of how much better I feel but also for the friendly, honest and warm nature that I have experienced.

“I was referred by my GP due to worsening arthralgia and back pain. My GP was also a patient and told me what to expect.
I was delighted that most of the treatment was gentle and effective. It keeps my muscles and joints mobile and reduces my pain and stiffness enabling me to enjoy life more.
I would highly recommend P.O.C. and have done on many occasions.”
