Foot and ankle pain
Our feet and ankles work hard for us, but we don’t tend to give them a second thought until they go wrong! Problems we often see at the clinic include plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, ankle sprains (which often become chronic due to altered posture and muscle weakness) and pain from arthritis.
We use “hands-on” therapy to ease any joint restriction and muscle stiffness. We will also advise you on exercise and therapeutic aids which can speed your progress.
Each treatment is tailor made for your unique problem!
Carl is a 55 year old Property Manager and a keen cyclist. After a particularly hard cycle ride he felt severe pain under the ball of his right foot, and shortly afterwards he also developed pain under the soles of both feet. After a thorough examination we diagnosed a suspected stress fracture with some associated nerve irritation in his right foot. To make matters worse this injury had altered Carl’s gait and led to plantar fasciitis! Carl had the ‘holiday of a lifetime’ (involving lots of walking) booked in 7 weeks time so our priority was to get him walking comfortably again in time for his trip. We worked hard to improve the mechanics of his feet and legs with osteopathic massage and manipulation. We also gave a lot of advice about insoles, exercises and anti-inflammatory measures in order to optimise the natural healing process. Happily Carl improved steadily and had an amazing holiday!

Testimonials
I contacted Mike after being in some considerable pain and prescribed diazepam by my GP. I can honestly say that after my second visit, which was today, the difference is incredible. Highly recommended for the ‘practical’ benefit of how much better I feel but also for the friendly, honest and warm nature that I have experienced.

“I was referred by my GP due to worsening arthralgia and back pain. My GP was also a patient and told me what to expect.
I was delighted that most of the treatment was gentle and effective. It keeps my muscles and joints mobile and reduces my pain and stiffness enabling me to enjoy life more.
I would highly recommend P.O.C. and have done on many occasions.”
