30 Years of Backs, Necks and Beyond
2024 has been another whirlwind year for the team at the Plympton Osteopathic Clinic. As we reflect on the past 12 months, we’re filled with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude for our loyal patients and dedicated staff.
A Milestone Anniversary
This year marked a significant milestone for one of our co-founders, Mike. He celebrated 30 years of practising osteopathy, a testament to his commitment to holistic healthcare and his passion for helping others. Alongside Pia, they graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1994 and embarked on their journey in Bristol before opening the Plympton Osteopathic Clinic in 1996.
A Growing Team and Expanding Services
Our clinic has evolved over the years, and we’re proud to have a team of skilled osteopaths: Mike, Kieron, Kate, Megan, and Pia. Together, we offer a comprehensive range of osteopathic treatments, ensuring that our patients receive the highest quality care.
In addition to osteopathy, Pia provides holistic and remedial massage therapy, both at the clinic and in Peverell. Her dedication to patient well-being and her expertise in massage techniques have made her a valuable asset to our team.
Our Commitment to Continuous Learning
As registered osteopaths, we understand the importance of staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field. We dedicate ourselves to ongoing professional development, attending workshops and conferences to expand our knowledge and skills.
One of the highlights of this year for Mike was a 14-hour intensive course held at St Mary’s Hospital in London. This course delved into the complexities of hip conditions, including impingements, dysplasia, gluteal pain, and tendonitis. It was an incredible opportunity to learn from experts, network with other healthcare professionals, and gain insights into innovative treatment approaches. This course was attended by Osteopaths, Physios, Chiropractors, NHS first responders and sports therapists. It was great to be amongst differing therapists, sharing experiences and learning new approaches. Mike commented that it’s always nice to spend a weekend in London, and the course finished just in time on the Saturday for him to find a pub that was showing England beating Switzerland in the Euro Championships!

Megan’s Academic Pursuits and Physical Fitness: Megan has delved deeper into cranial osteopathy and pediatric care while rekindling her love for gymnastics.
